The Claremont Institute’s Center for the American Way of Life Opens Its Doors

Claremont, CA, February 16, 2021 — Today’s conservative establishment lacks moral purpose and the strategy needed to fight identity politics, the Left’s central doctrine. Identity politics demands the destruction of republican self-government, the equal protection of the laws, and freedom of speech and thought.

To combat this pernicious ideology, the Claremont Institute’s Center for the American Way of Life will restore political liberty by reinvigorating the Right with new moral confidence and policy thinking while undermining the Left’s hold over the American conscience and its institutions.

“The plan for the center is simple and effective. We advise policy-makers at the national and state levels; we educate the public and cultivate a new elite; and we write about the threats to America and how to face them,” said Arthur Milikh, executive director of the Center for the American Way of Life.

The identity politics regime has already conquered nearly all of America’s major institutions and seeks to occupy the moral high ground. The universities and schools, Fortune 500s, much of the media and image-making industries, Big Tech, the administrative state, even the national security state, are used to wage war on the American way of life. They attack, ban, and slander everything for which America stands. The colorblind rule of law is denounced as racist; the family is said to be misogynist and homophobic; anything short of open borders is called xenophobia. The nation cannot survive this trajectory.

“We are thrilled to have Arthur leading this important new venture,” said Claremont Institute President Ryan Williams. “The Center for the American Way of Life will lead the formation of a new Right that understands its purpose and defends republican self-government against the existential threat of identity politics.”
