One of the most influential thinkers on the Right today, Michael Anton, will sit down with Ryan P. Williams, President of the Claremont Institute, for a fireside chat centered on Anton’s newest book, Dispatches from the Late Republic.
This collection of essays will serve as the point of ingress for a deeper reflection on the state of the American regime, paying close attention to its strengths, vulnerabilities both foreign and domestic, the durability of our political order and the principles that fuel it, and the enduring questions that will define its future beyond 250.
The conversation will seek to answer the core question of what it means for us to preserve a free and self-governing republic in an era of mounting internal and external pressures, and how we can be fruitful stewards.

In President Trump’s first administration, Anton served as Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communication on the National Security Council Staff at the White House. He also served for four years on the NSC staff in the George W. Bush administration.
Anton is the author of Dispatches from the Late Republic and the forthcoming Studies in Machiavellian Political Philosophy. He is also the author of three other books and co-editor of one essay collection.
In addition, Anton has been widely published in both mainstream and academic press, including in the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, Interpretation, and Perspectives on Political Science.
