Claremont Hires Arthur Milikh to Lead New DC Center

Claremont, CA — The Claremont Institute is pleased to announce the hiring of Arthur Milikh as the executive director of its new Washington, D.C. center, which will launch this coming Fall. Previously, Milikh was the Associate Director of the Center for American Studies and AWC Family Foundation Fellow at the Heritage Foundation. There, his work focused on the tradition of American political thought, and the freedom of speech.

“Hiring Arthur marks an exciting new chapter for the Claremont Institute”, said Claremont President Ryan Williams. “As Arthur well knows, too many on the Right shrink under pressure from defending America unapologetically. Under his capable leadership, our new Washington center will provide the backbone the Right needs to fight and discredit the Left’s politically correct agenda and sever its grip on America’s opinion-shaping, cultural, and corporate institutions.”

In 2016, Arthur completed the Claremont Institute’s Lincoln Fellowship. Prior to his time at the Heritage Foundation, Milikh worked at the House Committee on Armed Services and at the Hudson Institute.

Arthur’s writing has appeared in the Claremont Review of Books, National Affairs, City Journal, Real Clear Politics, American Greatness, and the Daily Signal. His pioneering scholarship on defunding the universities and the criminalization of “hate speech” will serve as guideposts for the new Washington center.

Currently working toward his PhD in Philosophy at Catholic University, Milikh holds a Masters from the University of Chicago and a B.A. from Emory University.

Milikh is a welcome addition to the Claremont Institute, whose mission is to “restore the principles of the American founding to their rightful, preeminent authority in our national life.” For nearly 40 years, the Claremont Institute has been a strong and effective leader in the fight to recover and defend the American idea. Founded in 1979, the Claremont Institute publishes the Claremont Review of Books  and American Mind; sponsors the Publius, Lincoln, John Marshall, and Speechwriters Fellowships for rising leaders; defends the Constitution and the principles of the revolution in our nation’s courts through our Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence; and administers a variety of programs and publications on politics and constitutionalism.
