Welcome to the new and expanded Claremont Review of Books website.
The Claremont Institute and the Claremont Review of Books seek to reinvigorate the public mind by returning to the first principles of a distinctively American conservatism. It is thus with great pleasure that I announce a new feature of the CRB: online-only content. Under Charles R. Kesler’s leadership as editor, the print magazine has earned the reputation as one of the premier publications on politics and political thought in the country. We will build on this success with more essays and reviews online, using the flexibility of instant publication to add more breadth to the print publication’s depth. We will offer more writing on arts and culture, economics, law, religion, and more, broadening our readership while maintaining our commitment to the highest editorial standards.
Articles from our print edition will still appear online, released from behind the paywall week-by-week. Our complete archives will likewise remain available online, free of cost, with subscriber-only access to back issues in PDF format for download.
Some things have changed, we think for the better. Our old online-only features—E-Reviews, Notes on Strategy and Statesmanship, and Upon Further Review—have been consolidated under the umbrella of “Web-Exclusive Content.” The full archives of the American Mind video series, hosted by Charles Kesler, will now be housed on our website. The “Editors’ Picks” section will now direct you to the most thoughtful political and social commentary from around the web. And we’ve updated the “Search” function to make it easier to find just what you’re looking for.
Our Senior Editor William Voegeli will oversee this effort, with Assistant Editor Lindsay Eberhardt stepping into the role of Managing Editor of Digital Content.
