The 27th Annual Publius Fellows Program

Each summer, the Claremont Institute brings together for a few weeks some of the best and brightest young conservatives in America. These Publius Fellows meet each day with Claremont Institute Senior Fellows and with distinguished visiting scholars to study American political thought and American politics. In both intensive daily seminars and relaxed and lively evening symposia, fellows discuss with public-spirited compatriots a treasure-trove of great American readings—from the Founding, to the Civil War, the Progressive Era, the New Deal, the Great Society, the Reagan years, and the critical disputes between liberalism and conservatism in our time. Throughout their stay, fellows work with editors and writers of the Claremont Review of Books to cultivate the American art of political writing.

The deadline for Publius applications is March 11. Each year, we receive numerous applications of qualified applicants, from which we will select twelve. Fellowships are awarded to the most highly qualified college juniors and seniors, recent college graduates, and graduate students. This year, the program will run from July 1-July 15, at a location in southern California. Each Fellow will also receive a stipend of $1000, some travel expenses, and most meals. Summer Internships

In addition, the Claremont Institute will be accepting applications for a limited number of summer internships. To apply, please submit the following materials:

• A resume and any academic transcripts.

• The dates you would be available to work.

• One letter of recommendation.

• A 100 word statement on the most important book you have read in the last two years, and why it was significant.

• A one page statement describing your interest in the Claremont Institute, and three policy areas on which you would be most interested in researching or writing.
