The Claremont Institute Announces 2016 Fellows

Washington, D.C.—The Claremont Institute is pleased to announce its 2016 Publius, Lincoln, and John Marshall Fellows.

Each year, the Claremont Institute identifies promising and influential conservative men and women from across the nation and engages them in an intense study of the political philosophy, jurisprudence, and statesmanship of America’s Founders.

This year’s 43 Fellows represent a wide range of influential positions in politics, policy, journalism, and the law. They include writers and editors for the Weekly Standard, Washington Free Beacon, and American Conservative; senior staffers for Senators Ben Sasse (R-NE) and Jeff Sessions (R-AL); policy experts from The Heritage Foundation, State Department, and Republican Study Committee; and law clerks for prominent judges like Diane Sykes, William Pryor, and Thomas R. Lee.

“Claremont has always prided itself on finding the best and brightest rising conservatives and providing them with a firm understanding of the enduring truths articulated in the Declaration of Independence,” says Claremont Institute President Michael Pack. “Though they spend just one or two weeks with us, our Fellows return to their careers as part of a lifelong community of influencers, empowered to turn principle into action.”

The Claremont Institute was founded in 1979 by students of Professor Harry Jaffa, with the goal of studying and teaching the principles of the American Founding to the next generation of conservative leaders. Claremont’s Fellowship programs have been a vital part of this effort since the very beginning of its work.
