The Claremont Institute is dedicated to teaching the philosophical principles of the American Founding, as well as their practical application, to the current and next generation of conservative leaders. In addition, the Claremont Institute helps these leaders increase their influence and builds them into a coalition to restore and preserve constitutional government.

Claremont, founded in 1979, advances its mission via three avenues:

  1. The Center for Political Philosophy & Statesmanship, which offers Fellowships to the best and most promising young writers, lawyers, activists, academics, entrepreneurs, and public servants.
  2. The Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence, which engages in strategic litigation to restore the principles of the American Founding.
  3. The Claremont Review of Books, which addresses policy at the level of ideas and aims to reawaken in American politics a statesmanship and citizenship worthy of our noblest political traditions.
