Annual Dinner in Honor of Sir Winston Churchill Sold OutDescription:
We are pleased to announce that U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, a passionate fighter for limited government, economic growth, and the Constitution, will be the honoree and keynote speaker at our annual Dinner in Honor of Sir Winston Churchill. The dinner will take place on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles. Senator Cruz will be presented with the Claremont Institute’s Statesmanship Award. Hugh Hewitt, author and national talk radio host, will emcee.
The proceeds from our Annual Dinner support Claremont Institute fellowships, where America's future thinkers and statesmen learn how the American founders structured our government to preserve individual liberty and to promote private enterprise and civic virtue.
Ted Cruz was recently elected the 34th U.S. Senator from Texas. His calling to public service is inspired largely by his first-hand observation of the pursuit of freedom and opportunity in America. Before being elected to the Senate, he received national acclaim as the Solicitor General of Texas, the state’s chief lawyer before the U.S. Supreme Court. He also served as a law clerk to Chief Justice William Rehnquist of the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a graduate of Princeton University and holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
Hugh Hewitt, who will emcee the event, is a lawyer, law professor, and broadcast journalist whose nationally syndicated radio show is heard in more than 120 cities across the United States. He is the author of a dozen books, including two New York Times best-sellers. Hewitt served for nearly six years in the Reagan Administration in a variety of posts, including Assistant Counsel in the White House and Special Assistant to two Attorneys General.
The event is sold out.
